About our MaMa Ministry MaMA was started at Calvary Chapel several years ago and ministers to families that have members involved in drugs of any kind. We meet each Wednesday evening in the North wing of the sanctuary building. This meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. We do believe that a relationship with Christ is the best way for any of our loved ones to be totally delivered from the deception they are living in by being addicted to drugs or alcohol. We utilize an open discussion format with no set agenda. We always close our meeting with prayer and commit to pray for you and your loved ones on an on-going basis. An outreach of this ministry provides high quality study bibles to inmates in the Texas prison system. To date we have shipped more than 600 of these bibles, and have a waiting list of over 200. It normally takes several months for an inmate to get a bible through our ministry. We also suggest that the inmates enroll in bible study so that they can grow in their relationship with the Lord. For the year 2007 there were over 200 enrolled, and we have been notified that there were 35 salvation acknowledgements sent as a result of this mininstry.
We are associated with the national organization of MaMA which is located in Arab Alabama. You can follow this link to access the national website: MaMAsite.net. If you have any questions please call Cindy Gilbert at 972 530-4887.
